Shin Bo-Me (Burmese: ရှင်ဘို့မယ်, pronounced [ʃɪ̀ɴ bo̯ mɛ̀]; also spelled Shin Bo-Mai) was queen to five consecutive kings of Ava. The ethnic Shan queen was considered a great beauty. She was the favorite and chief queen of Minkhaung I.[1] In 1426, she engineered the death of the next two kings Thihathu and Minhlange. She personally poisoned an 8-year-old Minhlange and put her lover Kale Kyetaungnyo on the Ava throne, and again became the chief queen. In 1427, Kyetaungnyo was overthrown by Mohnyin Thado, who subsequently made Bo-Me a junior queen.[2]
